Know what crossed the dock door, without counting

A truck is at the dock and the driver is waiting. Someone walks the pallets with a clipboard, counting boxes. One miscount and a store gets the wrong order, or an invoice is disputed weeks later. The count happens under pressure, every day.

Where the warehouse loses control

Counting by hand at the dock

Receiving and shipping depend on people reading labels. It is slow, it happens in a hurry, and mistakes are found after the truck has left.

Boxes closed with doubts inside

The box is taped. Is everything inside? Nobody opens every box to check, so mistakes ride to the customer and come back as complaints.

Pallets and loads out of sight

Mixed pallets, forklifts moving goods between areas, cross-docking in a hurry. When the system loses track, people search the racks.

How RAIN RFID changes it

  1. 1

The tag travels with the goods

Items, boxes or pallets carry a standard RAIN RFID tag, applied at the source or in your warehouse. You choose the tag.

  2. 2

    The door reads the load

Antennas on both sides of a dock door read every tagged pallet that crosses it. No one stops to scan.

  3. 3

    Closed boxes get checked

A conveyor, tunnel or table reads each item inside a sealed box and compares it with the order. The result: approved or pending, in seconds.

  4. 4

    Your system gets the answer

Reads go to your WMS over standard protocols. People handle the exceptions instead of counting everything.

In operation

On a real dock

DockView portals along a dock row. The pallet leaves the truck and the system already has its contents.

  1. Pallet crosses the dock door
  2. Portal reads every item
  3. Contents reach your system

Dock doors, in and out

Problem: unverified receiving and shipping. DockView Bundle brings two towers, four 85C7070 antennas and RF cables, powered over PoE. Add an EZ700 reader, sold separately. Fit one door in, one out, and cross-docking is visible.

Pallets and mixed loads

Problem: pallet contents unknown. PalletView is a structure with antennas that light up only the pallet, even stretch-wrapped. It needs an Identix EZ700 or EZ500 reader or an Impinj reader, sold separately.

Boxes before they ship

Problem: orders leaving incomplete. Pick by space: BoxView reads boxes on a roller conveyor, LineView is a tunnel over your conveyor, TableView is a fixed table with its reader embedded, PackView is a shielded cabinet.

What you gain

Receiving without clipboards

The load is read as it crosses the door. The team spends its time on exceptions, not on counting what is fine.

Orders checked before they close

Closed boxes are compared with the order before shipping. The mistake is fixed at the packing station, not at the customer.

Disputes start from data

Reads at both doors give you a record of what crossed. Talks with carriers and customers get shorter.

Questions we hear

Do you sell the tags?

No. Identix supplies readers, antennas, portals and accessories. Our readers work with standard RAIN RFID tags. You choose them, or take the ones your suppliers already apply to goods and pallets.

How many antennas can one reader drive?

The EZ500 and EZ700 have four antenna ports, enough for a DockView Bundle. For more, put a CATENA on each port: 32 antennas on one four-port reader. A passive RF splitter gives two outputs per port.

Will it read the pallet at the next dock?

That is what tuning is for. Reader power is adjustable, and fan-beam antennas such as the 85DL4090 are shaped to limit reads outside the zone. Test on site with your own tags and layout.

Is it fast enough for a busy line?

The EZ700 reads up to 1,000 tags per second. Dense Reader Mode and Self Jamming Cancelation help when many readers work close together, as in a warehouse full of docks.
