Identix 2 Port Splitter

Two-port power splitter for UHF RAIN RFID

The Identix RFID antenna splitter is a simple and efficient solution specifically designed to expand, at low cost, the connection capacity of RFID antennas on RAIN RFID UHF readers.

By using the splitter, it is possible to connect up to 8 antennas to a single RFID reader with four ports, providing a significant reduction in installation costs in scenarios requiring multiple antennas, such as continuous reading zones, smart shelves, and RFID cabinets.

Unlike a multiplexer, the splitter divides the signal into two paths, maintaining reading performance since there is no switching between the two outputs.

It can also be used to create antenna arrays; for example, by using two antennas 85C7070, it is possible to create a 2x1 array, increasing the gain to approximately 11 dB and altering the lobe to an approximate opening of 60° x 100°.

FEATURES

  • Passive power splitter with one input and two outputs

  • Enables expansion of RFID reader coverage by connecting up to two antennas per reader port

  • The splitter can be used in conjunction with Identix antennas to create arrays with extended reading range and narrower beamwidth

  • Easy to install

  • Low insertion loss

  • Compatible with unbalanced loads

  • Maintains performance even if one output port is disconnected
